Its official - they are finally the Westin New York Grand Central as of October 1, 2012       
 
Guest Rooms - floors 6 - 41

. All 774 rooms and suites are newly renovated Westin guest rooms.
2. Below is a listing of all the new changes to the guestrooms:
    • Westin Signature Heavenly Bed
    • Westin Heavenly Robes and bath products
    • 42"  flat screen Hi Definition IPTV with Movies on demand and International channels available
    • Individual AC/Heat controls in every room with the new 4 pipe HVAC system
    • Pull out sleeper sofas in every King room
    • Large working desks with both wired and wireless HSIA available for a fee
    • Complimentary Starbucks coffee one cup service
    • Mini Bars
    • 24 hour room service
 
Private Function and Meeting Space - 3rd floor

. A New Business center will open on the 3rd floor in November.
2. 2800 sq. ft Liberty Ballroom to be added in Q1(? January - March) 2013 with access to outdoor terrace (originally Leonas restaurant)
 
Fitness Center - 2nd Floor

. Brand New 3,000 sq. ft. Westin Work their Fitness center is open!

Front Entrance:

. The Front lobby is completed and the concierge & front desk are now back in the main lobby.
2. The Front Façade and entrance work is completed.  The new Westin signage is up and looks fabulous.

Food and Beverage Services:

. They still have limited F&B Services available. Leona's restaurant will continue to offer breakfast service only from 7am-11a.
2. Room Service is now open 24 hours.
3. The NEW bar and kitchen is still under construction and should be completed soon. Until then, Leona's will remain open for breakfast until the NEW restaurant opens. 


Aulani Disney Resort and Spa, Oahu:

When visiting Aulani Disney Resort and Spa, between October and mid-2013, you may notice some of their work in progress as the Resort is expanded. Rest assured you can still anticipate a fun-filled vacation at Aulani during this period. Explore all the updates planned at Aulani.
 

Waikolohe Valley Pool Area will soon delight Guests with more pool experiences and dining options, including:
    • A themed family pool featuring an infinity edge, a misty grotto with beautiful sunset views and an after-dark experience with glittering lights
    • A kids' splash zone that's designed to resemble a tidal pool, with images of tidal pool creatures on the pool floor, rainbow water jets and hidden menehune-the legendary "little people" of the islands
    • Additional deck space, chairs, chaises and cabanas surrounding the new water features 
    • A poolside dining venue serving breakfast, lunch and dinner-and featuring an outdoor patio with beautiful ocean view

- During the pool area expansion, much of Waikolohe Valley will remain open-including Waikolohe Pool, the lazy river, slides, whirlpool spas, Rainbow Reef and Menehune Bridge. However, Makai Preserve will close permanently this fall; Wailana Pool (the quiet pool) and Wailana Bar will close for an extended period.
 

New Lawn for Weddings, Events and Starlit Hui:

To accommodate more Guests, there will be a new, larger lawn location for events, weddings, 'Ohana Disney Movie Nights Under the Stars and the nighttime Starlit Hui hula show-a popular Guest experience.

Please note that 'Ohana Disney Movie Nights Under the Stars and Starlit Hui will be temporarily unavailable beginning September 10, 2012 as they move to their new location. Their schedule is expected to resume the week of October 8, when their new venue is complete.
 

Dining Additions coming in 2013, Aulani will offer 2 new food service locations:
    • A poolside venue serving breakfast, lunch and dinner-and featuring an outdoor patio with beautiful ocean view
    • A beachside quick-service eatery with convenient grab-and-go selections

- While enhancements are underway at Makahiki, restaurant operations will continue with interior seating only. As a result, the Disney Character Breakfast-Aunty's Breakfast Celebration at the Makahiki-will be extended to 6 days a week! This experience will be available Tuesday through Sunday, and Resort Guests will enjoy priority for advance reservations.
 

Makahiki - The Bounty of the Islands:

To provide shaded outdoor seating and accommodate additional Guests in inclement weather, an overhead trellis with retractable awnings will be added to the outdoor dining area at Makahiki.
 

- While enhancements are underway at Makahiki, restaurant operations will continue with interior seating only. As a result, the Disney Character Breakfast-Aunty's Breakfast Celebration at the Makahiki-will be extended to 6 days a week! This experience will be available Tuesday through Sunday, and Resort Guests will enjoy priority for advance reservations.
 

Beach Views and Beachfront Food & Beverage:

The terrace below 'AMA 'AMA - Contemporary Island Cooking will be enhanced with additional deck space, spectacular ocean views and stairs leading down to the beach. While this work is underway, you will see and hear construction-related work around 'AMA 'AMA during breakfast and lunch hours. Views from the restaurant may be partially affected.
For beachgoers, a second quick-service eatery will be built beachside, offering grab-and-go snacks and easy access.
 

Merchandise Locations:

A second retail store will be added just off the Maka'ala (lobby), where you can shop for Hawaiiana products, Aulani watches, handbags, sunglasses and more!

Exterior Decorative Beams:
Finishing touches are being put on the building exteriors-including work on the decorative beam joints. While this work is in progress, you may notice some scaffolding and covered walkways at Aulani.
