On March 22, the Balearic Parliament has approved the Sustainable Tourism Tax. As recorded in the law, the Tax will be levied from July 1st on all overnight stays in tourist accommodations (as there are hotels, holiday homes or cruise ships), paid per person/day.
The purpose of the Tax for Sustainable Tourism is the compensation of the so called carbon footprint caused by the tourism activity on the islands.
The amount of the Tax depends on the category of the hotels. In off season (November 1st - April 30rd), there will be a 50% discount, and longterm holiday makers will have a 50% discount on the Tax from the ninth day of their stay.
Children under age of 16 are exempt from the tax.
Abreu online’s prices do not reflect this new Tax that is directly paid in the hotel.
